Bluehouse Ski Company is a passionate little company that knows how to keep their fans engaged.
1. Have a contest: Bluehouse has a never-ending contest for customers to create their own ski designs. They keep it very simple: Go to the site, download the templates, upload your design. Everyone else gets to vote. Result: Lots of love, lots of loyalty — and reasons to keep coming back to the web site.
2. Have nutty content: They have an ongoing “Let’s Make a Deal” page. Can’t afford the skis? Offer them something in trade. So far they’ve been offered a drum set, golf clubs, and a Subaru. Result: Lots of love, lots of loyalty, reasons to keep coming back to the web site — and a Subaru.
How are you involving your fans?

Now that’s what I call customer involvement. Give them something to get excited about, give them something to talk about, give them something to come back for, give them something to love you for.
In a time when everyone is battling with faceless entities over their mortgage or credit card bills, this certainly seems to be a breath of fresh air for their customers.
Thanks for the inspiration.
