I got a box lunch at a conference. Inside was an apple … and a package of “Fruity Wipes” to sanitize it.
Thoughts:
- Please don’t serve me dirty food.
- What a waste of resources.
- Isn’t there a simpler solution? Like wash the apple and wrap it in a napkin?
Just because you can make something doesn’t make it a good idea. Inventors: Try to simplify life instead of complicating it.

Woah…Andy…love the new layout of your blog! Congrats!
When I need something with a UPC to clean my apple, I will be looking over my shoulder for the other signs of the Apocalypse .
I got this from their website (www.fruitywipes.com) – “Rinsing with water alone will not remove pesticide, fungicides, waxes and other agricultural chemicals, which are designed to be water-resistant. Fruity wipes are the quickest way to safely clean your fruits and vegetables.”
I guess they appeal to a niche segment of germaphobic consumers
Was Fruity Wipes a sponsor? Sounds like a product promotion.
This article was very informative. I never knew there was another way to wash fruit. Thanks
