(In honor of the insane travel over Thanksgiving. Add your favorites in the comments section.)
Salt Lick BBQ – Austin
Lalo’s (Breakfast Burrito) – Chicago Midway
Pegasus (Spinach Pie) – Chicago Midway
Rubio’s Fish Tacos – San Diego
Figs – New York LaGuardia
Corky’s BBQ – Memphis
Martin’s – San Juan, PR
The sushi restaurant – San Francisco Airport

I’d like to add a wonderful and long-time favorite of mine: Gold Star Chili, once only available in the Cincinnati airport (oddly enough.) http://www.goldstarchili.com

Rosario’s Mexican Cafe and Cantina at San Antonio International is great.
But what about the WORST restaurants in airports and how there can be such a disparity between the quality and service of airport locations and non-airport locations. Quizno’s at Denver International Airport is a great example of this.
Two additions for your list:
Ike’s – Minneapolis
the Japanese place near NW gate 50-something – Detroit (best noodles I’ve ever found while traveling)
Andy, let me know next time you’re in Austin and we’ll take you to the real Salt Lick, just outside of Austin. If you like the airport’s Salt Lick, you’ll be blown away by the real deal.
My favorite place to go at the Phoenix Sky Harbor airport is Paradise Bakery. They have great sandwiches and salads. But my favorite is the lemon poppy seed muffins…yummy!
I always get Potbelly in Midway. Tastes the same and costs the same as other Potbellys, which is nice since you don’t have to pay an airport premium. Also, Whitt’s BBQ in the Nashville airport is great. You have to pay about double the normal price, but it’s worth it to have that pulled pork sandwich one last time.
