Wienermobile: Generating word of mouth since 1936

IMG_0266Oscar Mayer’s Wienermobile is a word of mouth classic. This simple, silly truck gets people excited and gets them talking to their friends. You may not suddenly break into conversation about hot dogs on your own, but one visit from the 34-foot hot dog car will have you talking for the rest of the day.

A great lesson here: They’ve pulled it off through perseverance and consistency. Instead of worrying about one-time clever promotions, think about how you can tell a story again and again and again.

They’re taking the experience into the social media world with Facebook, Twitter, and a live blog called Hotdogger Blog.
