Do you have a product so cool that people will bring it home to their kids?

bearbread I carried this loaf of bread shaped like a teddy bear for 15 hours from the San Francisco Airport to my house in Chicago (one of those trips …). Dozens of people asked me about it. I spread a ton of word of mouth for the Boudin Bakery.

How did they get all this promotion? They didn’t need a marketing team. No crazy word of mouth marketing stunt. No street teams. No one in the store asked me to do it.

They just gave me one remarkable reason to talk.

(You can do this.)

P.S. They have more wacky loaves (link).

P.P.S. Here’s the sad dismembering:

Seems pretty simple to me, a focus on making cool products!

I went to this bakery and took a bunch of pictures of the alligators and turtles to show my kids. They loved the picture of the giant sourdough alligator that they had on a chain outside of the bakery.
