When is the last time you got a genuine thank-you note from a charity?
Growing Power is a great organization. They help bring real agriculture and healthy food to urban communities. Founder Will Allen is leading both the urban renewal movement and the real food movement at the same time.

But here’s where I get impressed: We made a donation on December 31. This thank-you note was mailed the next Monday morning.
If the charities you support don’t have the good sense to send a proper thank you like this one, send your money to Growing Power instead.
(And think about whether you are thanking your customers enough.)

Nice article. The bottom line is to both not get lazy when dealing with your donors, but also the nice personal touch vs. sending an email. I serve on the BOD for a non-profit and we still send out handwritten thank you notes to each person.
