Pan Am died in 1991.
They're still selling souvenirs 18 years later.

Pan Am has a story to it — for me, anyway, and for others, too, I think — and it’s a glamorous one. It sticks very strongly in my mind, and I have no similar associations for any other airline. Air France, perhaps — it’s a sense of quality, a high level of service, and good food, but not the same.
