Don’t let them leave without something to share

May 17, 2009

CIMG0022Every person who walks out of your door should have something in hand to show the next person they see.

Example: I ate at lunch Jimmy John's and I have a magnet and a menu. I also had breakfast at Au Bon Pain – and left with nothing but a napkin.  Everyone who dropped by my desk for the rest of the day saw the Jimmy John's stuff, and a few asked me about it.

These visual trigger that starts conversation about you.  It doesn't have to be much:  A menu, a sample, a catalog, a sicker, a cool shopping bag, a nice box, a lollipop.

(The online equivalent: A white paper, a video to post to Facebook, a coupon to forward, an email subscription.)
