Quick Tip

November 30, 2007

Make sure the logo on your home page can be saved as a simple graphic.

When people want to blog about you, you want them to use a good copy of your logo. If they can’t save it off your home page, they may use a cruddy graphic — or just skip it all together.

THANK YOU! I run into this all the time when writing up posts for the various blogs I contribute to. I try to save the logo and it’s not a downloadable graphic file. Argh. It’s insanity.

Andy,
Great point. I never realized how often this is the case until I started blogging.
I would also add that the logo should be at print resolution (300 dpi), so that the logo appears at high quality in print. It will slow the load time a bit, but with the adoption rates of high-speed internet climbing more and more by the day (over 70% right now in the US) this is a minor issue.
Craig
