About me
Hi, I'm Andy Sernovitz, and this is my blog.
Here's my story:
I'm CEO of GasPedal, a word of mouth marketing consulting firm.
I'm author of the hot and sexy new book Word of Mouth Marketing: How Smart Companies Get People Talking. Seth Godin wrote the Foreword and Guy Kawasaki wrote the Afterword.
I'm a professional speaker. (See me live - upcoming appearances.)
I teach Word of Mouth Marketing at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. I used to teach Internet Entrepreneurship at University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.
I was a founder and CEO of the Word of Mouth Marketing Association, which made this idea of consumer-friendly, consumer-controlled marketing into the #1 most important marketing phenomenon. I recent left WOMMA to return to private life (here's why) -- I'm now the "President Emeritus."
In past lives: I founded and ran the Association for Interactive Marketing, the big trade group in the dot com days; was an email marketing guru, ran a business incubator; started some startups; sat on some boards.
I was on Da Ali G show. I walked 32 miles around the perimeter of Manhattan. I saw the Grateful Dead 25 times and Whitesnake only once.
I have an amazing wife and two wacky kids.
